sumo fighters entering the ring - Tokyo Ryogoku
When a match begins, the wrestlers remove the decorative aprons they wear for the ring-entering ceremony and appear in tightly wrapped, fringed loincloths (torimawashi). These garments are made of sheets of silk satin up to forty feet long, with twisted strings that hang from the waist in the manner of sacred ropes on Shinto shrines.

Wow! Ein geniales Foto. Schade, dass im Hintergrund nur so wenig Leute da sind. Eine geringere Blendenzahl / mehr Unschärfe wäre im Hintergrund evtl. besser gewesen. Aber sonst: Ein wirklich gelungenes Foto. :-) Wirf doch auch mal einen Blick in meine Aufnahmen.
