Are you afraid of heights? Come to Preikestolen, Norway!

    Newer Older

It was to cloudy to see the 600m drop off. 10 people fell off that day, mainly Italians... A few tourbus guides were pushing... Anyway. Preikestolen is in the south of Norway, Lysefjord. It is a few hours hike towards this place. Below there is a parking place which is crowded with tourists in summer time. So if you want to see Preikestolen for your self, not shared with hundreds of other tourists, it might be a good idear to start rather early (or come in winter). One last thing: don't go up there when it is cloudy or raining. Because then you won't see this incredible view. See more photos at www.nielsbreve.nl

Very funny warning to the Italians .... incredibly wonderful shot here, but doesn't anyone ever notice there's a humongous crack in the middle that could let go at any minute (reminder ... it is very old you know). Guess living in earthquake country gives one an entirely different perspective on humongous cracks :) ...

Very nice photo and beautiful place. I've been in Norway several times, I like the country very much and I have friends there.
The only thing I don't like is your opinion about Italian.
Probably you watch too much television..... ;)
      Peace and love, take care

Great view. I was just wondering about the deep crack across the middle of the rock. Probably take several years before the winter ice forces half of the rock to slide into oblivion. Or perhaps months -- or hours!!!
