The ride to Pangong Lake is almost like embarking on some sort of treasure hunt...except of course that there is only one road and you can never lose your way! What you do lose once in a while is your breath.
Traverse high altitudes, rough terrain and roads, the Chang La pass over 5000m high...over a hundred kilometers of mind-blowing landscapes...and then suddenly in the middle of these golden mountains lays a sight to behold...a devastating shade of blue...

Pangong Tso is a lake in the Ladakh Himalayas situated at a height of about 4,250 m (13,900 ft). It is 134 km (83.3 mi) long and extends from India to Tibet. Two thirds of the length of this lake lies in Tibet. The lake is 5 km (3 mi) wide at its broadest point. In winter, the lake surface freezes completely despite being salt water.
The road to Pangong Tso traverses the third-highest pass in the world, the Changla pass, where army sentries and a small teahouse greet visitors. The spectacular lakeside is open from May to September.
