Grainy Day

Grainy Day

First attempt at stand development using HC-110. I like it. I will do it again. A lesson learned the hard way however.....I had mixed up a batch of fix way back in the spring and had not used it for a long time. I was able to fix two rolls of film and then got all excited and decided to do two more rolls. I luckily decided to check the fix and found out it was pooched. I had a secret stash of some old Kodak fixer in paper packaging. No expiry date. I mixed it up, followed the instructions to a T.

I continued to develop my rolls as well as I could remember without having anything written down in front of me. After completing the fix, I took a peek and saw that the negs were rather purplish. Then I remember my friend Alan saying that they needed to be fixed longer.......I think. Fixed again. But this time when I poured out the fix solution it was pink. "That's interesting", then I washed the negs but FORGOT to fill tank and rinse three times with water first......I ended up with bad negs and really pink solution after inverting the tank after adding photoflo.

Perhaps the new/old fix was really pooched!!!!

Live and learn....

Walking In the Evening Light

Walking In the Evening Light

Playing with the Fuji transfer process again. Success!

This is one of my favorite local walks. You locals will recognize it depending on which route you take when you travel these paths. I shot this back in 2005 using my trusty Minolta SLR using slide film. Can anybody recognize my favorite female muse?

All That We Perceive

All That We Perceive

Spent most of the day learning Lightroom, I think my head may explode.
Listened to my entire collection of Thievery Collection and that is where the title for this photograph comes from.

Love the street art that renders the back alleys of Toronto so enticing. I wonder how long before this piece will last before being reinvented.

Those digital photographers, they think they are so sneaky. Oh, but wait, the chap on the right has a fine Leica film camera hanging around his neck........
