The Polar Bear (Ursus maritimus) is a bear native to the Arctic Ocean and its surrounding seas.
Together with the Kodiak Bear he is the largest members of the Bear
family.
An adult male weighs around 400–680 kg (880–1,500 lb), while an adult
female is about half that size.
The polar bear is found throughout the Arctic Ocean and adjacent seas.

Der Eisbär (Ursus maritimus), auch Polarbär, ist eine Raubtierart aus der Familie der Bären
(Ursidae). Er gilt neben dem Kodiakbären als das größte an Land
lebende Raubtier der Erde.
Erwachsene männliche Eisbären erreichen im Durchschnitt eine
Kopf-Rumpf-Länge von 2,40 bis 2,60 Metern. Das Gewicht variiert
zwischen 300-800 Kilogramm. Die Weibchen erreichen im Durchschnitt
1,90 bis 2,10 Meter und das Körpergewicht liegt 150-300 Kilogramm.
Eisbären sind ausschließlich in der Arktis verbreitet und zwar
zirkumpolar, also in der Polarregion rund um den Nordpol (Quelle: Wikipedia).
Viele von euch wissen, dass ich eigentlich Ursula heiße. Wußtet ihr übrigens: Ursula ist lateinischen Ursprungs (ursus = Bär) mit dem Suffix -ula und bedeutet eigentlich kleine Bärin.
