I had to google him when I got back and the
gist of the articles are that they are a more
aggressive and dominant mutation of the
greys, with bags more testosterone. You need
two genes to mutate to get pure black, only
one you get brown black ( which I think this
one must be ) .
in cambridgeshire they now make up more than
50% of the squirrel population !
he was very cute..and certainly has the
testosterone as he was in the tiger part of
the safari trail ;-)
I never managed to get a pic in time to
convince an old housemate they were real.
Then one day, without knowing the feud, my
mum caught one on camera.... will have to dig
out the pic and upload.

taken in north Cambridge. To think my
housemate taunted me by asking if they said
