Pegs bokeh

Pegs bokeh

An ordinary object that had fascinated many photographers so far! And it seems my turn has come :)

I pretty like this bokeh, and it well reflects the street life in Thailand, where you can find a outdoor laundry at every corner. Simple, beautiful, colourful...that's all it means!

Colours are naturals, no post hoc enhancement.

Have a great weekend!

Monk above all

Monk above all

A portrait of our charismatic guide fortuitously met during a walking journey to the striking hilltop Buddhist temple known as Wat Tha Ton. Monk chats are very welcome in Thailand as it is often their only way to learn English.

It's beautiful to imagine that monks wear this orange robe for a life-time. But this does not mean that they can't add a fashion or pretty touch to it :)

Note: if you are going there don't miss the free breakfast outside the temple after the sunrise (offered by the monks for the monks and everybody else). It's a fantastic experience as the atmosphere of the place is magical... more photos to follow!

François Hollande - Speech at King's College London

François Hollande - Speech at King's College London

The left-wing candidate for the 2012 French Presidential election held a speech in London today. He spoke about Europe, economic and youth, at the King's College.
Another goal was, of course, to convince French voters since 300,000 French people leave in London.

Untitled

Another shot from the Sukhothai Historical Park. I really love these old Buddha statues. They might all look similar, but a closer look reveals slight differences in their face expression.

Here, I tried to pick up the amazing details of the head sculpting...

The cult of Gold {Explore}

The cult of Gold {Explore}

Gold is virtually everywhere in Thailand. By everywhere I mean in every Temple ("Wat").
But you can count so many Wat in all villages, towns or citys, that you won't spend a single day in Thailand without your eyes being attracted by the shiny reflection of the sun in these golden umbrellas.

In Buddhism, umbrellas can protect people from the different elements, like the sun or the rain. It means protection from suffering and harmful forces.

Gilded umbrellas are often found at each Wat corner.

I took this shot at the famous (and crowded) Doi Suthep Wat near Chiang Mai.

Please, have a look to my Thailand album!
