Yeah I like the crop better too. Nice find on the beach there dude, it certainly is a great spot.

Great tones, great reflection and great foreground. Yeah you're probably missing your boat

Thanks dude! I saw that there were clouds on this side, took the sunset shots, then ran here, saw the log and I was like... hmmmm, I like mud.

I found a huge shell of some sort also ;)

Ah, that's it, the boats, I knew something was missing, and would you guess this is taken some 100m to the right of the Cleveland Yacht club ;)

The more I see this the more I like it (and I liked it a lot when I first saw it). Something a bit apocolyiptic (sp?) about it. The mushroom clouds in the distance. The twisted tentacle of the mutant beast just out of shot (think Tetsuo from 'Akira'). The looseness of the uncropped shot just adds to the feeling of everything bar the atomic monsters having been wiped from the Earth's surface. Very creepy. Very final.

Wonderful light and composition elements, brilliant shot, but I wonder how it would have looked with the log positioned midway between the two glorious clouds and then the whole shot tightened in a little. It's the cloud directly above the log that bothers me, they compete with each other, and the cloud on the right is an afterthought, whereas offset would allow the eye to focus on each beautiful element for its own sake, yet tied together as a whole. Nothing actually missing, slight rearrangement. Sorry, just a thought... I love viewing your work!

I love this shot...it has a rather surreal quality about it...so beautiful in such cold way...it makes me shiver. It looks like a creature rising up through cracks in ice. Beautiful
