I found this tintype while filing some images and could not believe I had overlooked posting it. One of our subsets of images with photographic subjects is of people with stereo viewers. This tintype of a lovely woman and her sad faced daughter includes a table with a Holmes viewer and a scattering of stereo cards.
Ads for photographic studios of the day often feature stereo viewers and cards for sale. Is the photographer just using the props that are close at hand or inserting a subtle advertisement for his stock?
