A little girl in a lace trimmed pinafore shares a swing with her doll in this cabinet card by Herbert Evans of Kettering, England. I bought the following card by the same photographer at the same time and assume that this little lady and that young man are related.

What can I say? Superb. Lovely. Beautiful.

her little legs hang down like bell-clappers..no doubt she was well-disciplined , and stayed beautifully still.
"There was a young lady from Kettering.."

I am always amazed when the photographs on a swing are so sharp. I think it would be especially hard for a child whose feet do not reach the floor to stay still.

Lovely photo. The exposure time must have been pretty fast. The girl seems to be more comfortable than the doll. :-)

Photos of a girl with a doll seem to attract a lot of ebay bids..an eternally popular theme, it appears.

I was amazed to find it along with the other four photographs I posted today in an antique mall that was across the street from the hardware store we went to today to get some supplies to work on our kitchen. It was very much a spur of the moment decision. When I took the photographs to the cashier she said that they had just come in so it was very lucky timing.

Hi, I'm making a short film on vintage kids toys and would love to have this in the film. It's just a personal project so I can't pay you for it but I will mention you in the credits. If I end up using it, i'll inform you when it's completed so you can view it. Please let me know if you'll allow me to download this photo for video use.
Thanks!
