Spirit Drawing of Lily "Sunbeam" - Carte de Visite - 1869
This is a photograph of a drawing by the spirit artists Wella & Pet Anderson. They were a husband and wife team who made drawings of the departed while in a trance.
Lily was the daughter of L.E. & S.A.R. Waterman of Boston. The card bears a photographer's credit for W. H. Getchell, Boston. A note that copies can be had for 25¢ and a 3¢ stamp shows the mother's name and address.
A companion photograph shows Lily's living twin sister Rose. Another flickr member, Jack Mord has a set with this Lily image but a different image of Rose.
We also have a copy of another spirit drawing by the Andersons of three brothers, children of R.C. & B.R. Trowbridge of Tully, New York. It was made in 1868.
