Have i told you lately how very much i miss you!? I do. I hope you are preparing the beach for me, with soft, warm sand and pretty shells....and if it is not too much to ask, a smattering of sea glass for my collection. You probably don’t know this, but my friend Emily brought me sea glass all the way from Bosnia....along with pretty, colorful, smooth pebbles, since the beaches there have no sand. I bet they make a beautifully magical sound as you wash over them though. There is a beach in Massachusetts that has big, smooth round and oval stones....in pretty colors, like pink and green and yellow....when you wash in over them they make a sound that i could listen to for hours....music to my ears. I brought some home with me and i see them everyday as i leave for work....and they make me smile and think of summer.....and you, dear ocean.
I hope to see you soon!
With Undying Love,
Susan

PS. i found this in The Devil’s Dictionary and thought you would be amused:
OCEAN, n. A body of water, occupying about two thirds of a world made for man....who has
no gills.
Ambrose Bierce, published from 1881-1906.......funny fellow...great dictionary!

It is Hump Day Bokeh Wednesday already! See how fabulous the week is without mONDAY as a work day!!? We are SO much closer to Friday... i do like this a whole lot better than the normal week! I will be going away from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.....to a Women’s Retreat i was invited to. My daughter is going with Noah Jacob....so he will be officially crashing his first female sleepover party! I suppose it is safe to say that it is good he will have no memory of it!! I have never done this before...but i am looking forward to a little time to myself and a bit of communing with nature and maybe meeting some new people. I am told by some of the others going that is is usually a ton of fun.....i will settle for a ton of tranquility....a bit of peace and alone time. Will try and set up my posts ahead of time...and will hopefully be able to check in since i LOVE looking at the photos that you all take and share. i may even get to relax and do my homework in peace!!

Dear Noah Jacob,
you are my second bean, so.soft and small. you have already taken up a BIG spot in my heart, right next to your sister, Lileigh Grace. You and Lileigh Bean are my favorite blessings. Come September you will be joined by a cousin and that sweet soft, small bundle with join you and your sister in that special place in my heart. I promise that no matter what, i will always love all of you.....more.

Noah Jacob at just 12 hours old....blissfully slumbering. There is something magical about babies....holding them and breathing in the smell of pure innocence. Such unconditional love and sweet softness. Warm little bundles of love, so dependent on those around them. i am destined to be a baby hugger at the NIC unit one of these days. i can not think of another more peaceful thing than rocking and cuddling a little baby. This has to be God’s love in it’s purest form.

Spring can not possibly be far off. I am hearing spring birds! There have been 3 male mallards chasing a poor tired female up and down the pond, the geese are returning, so the start of “goose wars” on the pond, complete with tail pulling and loud honking should be commencing at any time now. They are SO territorial....only one pair will stay to raise their brood. My daffodils are up and nodding with fat buds, and the lilies are emerging from their winter nap under the maple by the bay window. The squirrels have been in high speed chase mode up and down and around and around the big maples in front of the house. i have taken to putting almonds into the crevices of the bark, just so the cats and i can be entertained while we sit in the bay window on cold days!
This fellow knew there was a rival squirrel watching him from a branch above....chittering angrily at him for stealing his almonds. First order of business was for the thief to circle the tree, out of eyesight of the rival squirrel and grab on with his back toes, hunker down, and be one with the tree, while he hung there eating the stolen nut! Never mind that there were plenty more to choose from.....they don’t share all that well!
All of this ruckus and racket outside the window is a sure sign that winter is packing her bags...and i could not be more delighted. she may throw one more angry glance our way....but i think it will be a half hearted attempt at best....
May you all be seeing signs of renewal around you as well....once spring is here, can summer be all that far away!? i think not! :D

Rose petal, buds and bokeh....just because: i need B&W practice, pulled out my macro yesterday, had the flowers and wanted to shoot something from them before they bit the dust, there was too much wind blowing to do macro’s outdoors, i felt yucky with head congestion so after this i took a nap....it lasted from 1pm to 6pm. i have not been sleeping at night because of this allergy or cold....not sure which it is. i am better today :) You can take your pick or choose all of the above!

My condolences to /www.flickr.com/photos/susiecreamcheese/.....i hear she is getting a snowstorm. That stinks! I think my daughter may get some of it too, down in Fredericksburg. My understanding is it will miss us up here in Jersey....YAY! It is cold and sunny this morning....i am ignoring the cold part and very happy for the sunny part.
Have a blessed day, where ever you are today!
