The gate keeper

Here are a few scenes from one of the most difficult high crime areas in all of L.A. to shoot. The Westlake district. These I shot with my ME SUPER, M40F/2.8 and Ilford XP-2

The DR of film simply rocks. How quickly I forget.

Thank you. I film is cool for that once in a while old school feel, but I am finding it very unpractical these days. 8~)

Especially the first picture, the b/w tones and quality are marvellous. The composition and framing excellent. There are some areas in Birmingham that I just wouldn't shoot so I applaud your courage here man. I do hear you in respect of shooting film - it is great once in a while but not ultimately practical.

The tunnel photo exudes the drama that you describe is prevalent in that area. So well interpreted in B&W.
