Lightning Harvest

Lightning Harvest

We had alot of storms through this years harvest and it caused me alot of down time but i'm glad in a way otherwise i wouldn't have any lightning photo's.

Thats our New Holland CR 960 in the foreground and a bit of lightning around 40 kms away from a storm front that passed through a few hours before.

Blazing harvester

Blazing harvester

Explored, yay my first one!

I was doing some reasonably long days through harvest this year and got alot of night photos, unfortunately i got quite a bit of dust on the lens and got a bit of dust on the sensor so the photos need some editing.

This photo here was taken near Miling on a 30 sec exposure, i set up the camera on a tripod ran back to the harvester and got back to work. I'm still experimenting with exposure and shutter speed combinations .

The harvester working there is a New Holland CR 960 you'll have to take my word for it, the dust from the harvester and the lights created a great glowing effect which is something i'll have to perfect by next harvest.

The other kind of Swinger

The other kind of Swinger

I went out to Pithara speedway a few weeks ago, i'm ashamed to admit, it was my first time there, considering my interest in cars.

Anyway i had this old guy come up to me and enthusiasticaly say "hey mate are you a swinger? we're short one swinger can you help us out?" It sounded suspect but i said i need to see it done first before i'll do it.

It turns out it's one of the most dangerous positions to be in motorbike racing (the swinger is the guy on the back of the bike). I got some good photo's and made alot of contacts there so it was well worth going.

Jingemia cave

Jingemia cave

I was asked to take some English girls to see some of the local sites, i hadn't been here since i was a boy but it occured to me that the only interesting natural wonder in the area was this cave. The shot was taken from the base of the cave near an old excavation site.

Dead Kangaroo

Dead Kangaroo

This is a dead roo that i've driven past for weeks, it was shot by a group of local shooters back in April for the pre-seeding shoot of feral animals, as well as roos which are ever increasing in number. The roos need barely any food to survive and thrive on green feed. Hence the reason to keep numbers down before the green feed comes.
