we spent the weekend in Galena for a family retreat and had a wonderful trip. this little sweet guy is a bit like the middle child in moments. his big sis (being the oldest and only female grandchild) gets lots of attention and the two baby boy cousins get showered with help and attention all day long. so one morning, he burst out with tears, "nobody's even paying attention to me!"
poor little dude. so he and i went in the basement and played a game of 'bolleyball,' which is what he calls volleyball. we volleyed a balloon over a pool table and he lit up again with that beautifully infectious smile.
after the game was over i asked him if i could take a few shots of him near the glass door in that fabulous winter light. he obliged and i was thankful.

Oh, poor neglected boy. He looks like such a charmer, it's hard to believe.
but if everyone had been paying him loads of attention just then, you wouldn't have gotten these. and they are spectacular
