Marblehead Castle Rock #3

Marblehead Castle Rock #3

Here's one last shot from Marblehead. It's pretty similar to the first one I uploaded but it's actually taken from a bit further back and then up on top of a big rock outcropping. By this time the sun was just beginning to break above the cloud bank on the eastern horizon, throwing some direct light on things. This meant shorter exposure times, so I was able to catch an incoming wave (it took a few tries to get one that was uniform like this along the coast). I was particularly drawn to the way the water was taking a greenish color near the shore, which can happen when bubbly foamy water from previous waves is forced underneath an incoming wave that's still mostly free of bubbles. I've obviously enhanced the green just a tad, but it's actually not that far from the original.

After this I'll go back and finish off the waterfalls from the fall in Western MA.

Marblehead Castle Rock #2

Marblehead Castle Rock #2

Here's another from November at Castle Rock in Marblehead. This was earlier than the last shot, giving the ocean that smoothed over look from a longer exposure. Also, the colors were a bit more intense. Maybe too intense? I don't know, you decide.

Marblehead Castle Rock #1

Marblehead Castle Rock #1

Due to computer problems, it's been a long time since my last upload. I also haven't done any new photography since November, when I took this shot. This is in Marblehead at sunrise, not too far from Chandler Hovey Park. I have a couple more from here. The sun was blocked at this point by a cloud bank on the eastern horizon, allowing for longer exposures of the waves. I liked the fan shapes they made on this pebble beach.

Twin Cascade #4

Twin Cascade #4

Here's the last of my shots from the Twin Cascade area in western MA, shot way back in October. This is a view of the narrow flume below where the two waterfalls join together. The water was freezing to stand in. This is the last shot I have to upload for the foreseeable future. I have more from this day as well as some very different shots from Marblehead in November, but they are on my desktop computer which is still down.

Twin Cascade #3

Twin Cascade #3

Happy New Year, everyone. Here’s yet another shot from Twin Cascade back in October. This is the more photogenic half of the waterfall. To the left of this shot is the taller cascade featured in the two previous shots.

I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to get out any time soon for new work, so I’m stretching out the time between what I have left already done. I have a bunch more from western MA, and then three from Marblehead. Unfortunately, most of these shots are on my desktop computer which is not working at the moment. I’ve narrowed the problem down to one of three things… sure hope it’s not the motherboard. All of my unposted shots should still be preserved on the hard drive which I believe is undamaged.
