Early Radio, Poland 1920's

This is a picture of some relatives, whose names I do not know. It was taken in Poland in the late 1920's. The Father and child were "techies" of their day, listening to a very early radio set. I only hope, for their sakes, that they got the chance to leave Europe before it was too late.

1940's-50's Sign

This was orignially the sign for the Duke Theater, which opened in 1947. It became Starlite Lanes in 1958. The bowling alley was gone by the mid-60's and the building was used for several other purposes. The sign was covered up from the 1960's until early 2010.

Starlite Lanes on 8 Mile Road

This marquee was constructed for the Duke Theater, which this building was from 1947 to 1958. The Starlite Lanes version of the sign dates from the 1950's. It was covered up from about the mid-1960's to early 2010. Does anybody remember this place as either the Duke Theater or Starlite Lanes.
