My last picture, several weeks ago, attempted to copy the style of LJ. Yeah. Not quite, but thanks.

Today, I am attempting to copy (okay, copy is not the right word ... because you cannot copy this guy) Brian Day, specifically, this shot

My guess is that most of you have stumbled across Brian's work. If not, go look at his stream. His Time Traveler Series. His Emergency Response Series. His ... well ... everything.

And, of course, and meaning no disrespect to Brian (and I know he won't take any), gas masks are pretty damn cliche. I pretty damn well over processed this. And, it's me in there.

Okay, so in the grand tradition of fickr ... I am going to blather about the new year.

First, this is a very sad attempt to copy this picture by LJ ... someone whom I have been trying to emulate without any success for years.

Which brings me to Second. Second, I am sort of tired of taking pictures. At least on a regular basis. I have taken pictures of my house and my kids and my wife and my yard and my park and a lake near my park and firemen in my street and the ocean and the beach and various combinations of all the above. And, oh, don't get me wrong. When I have an opportunity, I will still take and post pictures ... I mean, this is flickr, right? And, I do have a wedding booked for May!

Which brings me to Third. Third, my project for the new year will be to create and publish a quarterly magazine ... all proceeds to go to charity. I have spoken to several people about getting involved, and I will give more details as it takes shape. The general plan is to spotlight various groups and various photographers on flickr. But, you know, in a high class way, not just "here, meet my bestest bud photographer who've shots you've seen a million times" kinda way. I am hoping to have a travel section, a food section, a going on about town (i.e., flickr) section, a featured photographer section, and a featured group section. The devil, as always will be in the details, but I want the first issue out by Mid-March.

I will call it Three Stops Down .

In any event, that's all the news that's fit to print for this moment. Of course, I hope all of you had a wonderful new years night, and continue to have a wonderful new year!!!
