I won it!
Hurrah, I won it, my 1947 cake topper! This is the first thing I've bought for the wedding, and I'm not even sure where or how I'll use it, but I fell in love with its kitschiness. Also the bride and groom kiiiiiiiiiiiind of look like us, maybe just a little.

After I read your blog post I had to go to ebay to look it up, and I did see this one. When I looked at the others for sale there, I thought this would be the one. Well done!

Aw my parents were married in 1947, and they're still going strong so I think it's a wonderful good luck charm and a great first addition!

My grandparents on my mother's side were also married in 1947 -- didn't even find that out until I'd won this, so it's perfect.

Hi! My mother just found her topper from 1947 and we want to use it for my daughter. It looks to be made of similar material from yours. It need restoration, however, as parts of the white have brown spots. Can you tell me what the base is made from? That may help me to restore it. Thanks! ME in NJ
