empty nesting |
This project consisted of the interior
remodeling of a 1970's era ranch house
to accommodate an empty nest couple.
The existing walls between the kitchen,
family room and living room were removed
and the space opened to create a Great
Room with adjacent kitchen. The
existing, awkwardly placed fireplace was
removed and a new fireplace installed to
anchor one end of the Great Room. The
existing 8' high ceiling in the living
room and family room was raised by 30”
to create a more spacious room.
