There are no backcountry huts in the Darran Mts. But there are several well established bivvy rocks to use as climbing bases. This one above Lake Adelaide in Morraine Creek was put on the map by Mike Gill in the fifties, sleeps 7 or 8 people and in some ways offers more security than a hut.
