My first flight knowing I got the job. If you could see me you'd see the silly grin on my face.
We were flying to Savannah Georgia to pick someone up.
Savannah is where I got my first license in a jet in the Gulfstream 550, so it was perfect. Waiting in the airport lounge was my old 'boss' who made it all possible, so I got to tell him IN PERSON and see the look on his face and get a BIG HUG. It was amazing, honestly one of the best moments of my life so far.
There are people in your life that come along and are genuine from the beginning. I was lucky enough to have one of them be someone who was in a position to help me make great things happen.
Now I get to fly to Florida tomorrow (on Southwest so I can relax in the back!) and tell my Mom in person!
The screen that I wrote on is a screen that you can change around to show many different screens. Gone are the old school "round dials" of the old days in airplanes. This screen shows the view from one of the many cameras on the jet-from the tail looking forward. You can see the HUGE Rolls-Royce turbofans that make it capable for us to go Mach .87! They are almost as big as the cabin! You can also start to see the curvature of the earth even though we were only at 38,000 feet because of the short trip. This thing can usually take you up to the edge almost ten miles in the sky! That view is insane! I'll have a picture soon enough!
Did I mention I loved this airplane? I have the grin on my face again...
