Guide horse

This is scout, a miniature horse that works as a guide horse. I saw him and his partner at the Cincinnati airport and asked if I could take a picture as I had never seen a guide horse before! Yes, he did get on a plane!

Did you tell the guy his guide horse had lost a shoe? I'd think he's wearing them for a reason and he might want to put on a backup-shoe :)

Now on a less serious note. OMG SO CUTE! SQUEE!!

What did he order to drink?

  9. legotech (57 months ago | reply)

He left the shoe behind at the TSA when he was trying to get himself back together after...its tough when you have to get yourself dressed AND worry about making sure your human has all his stuff back too!

Whoa... Is the horse house-trained ? I've never heard of a house-trained horse. The horses I've met just pee and poo wherever they are, and whenever they feel the need.... That's why tou have to clean the stable often.

Or is that why the horse is wearing... something ? Are these actually horse-diapers ?

Thanks so much for taking this. I saw it on Cute overload! Very cool! I'd have so many questions to ask him!!. I am just amazed a horse is smart enough to be a guide??? I spend ALOT of time around horses...I'm an equestrian photographer, so this really blows me away. Not to mention how darn cute the horse is and CLEAN!! I thought at first it was a stuffed animal o)

Maybe now people will finally realize just how smart horses really are-something I've always known.

I find horses even more trustful and noble than dogs.

If this horse is of a naturally tiny family it must have been bought at Argentina. It is said that they are very expensive because they keep their natural horse instincts intact and so, they are very intelligent and good for sports.

I have heard about these "new" guides and how smart they are. I wonder where the horse "sat" on the plane.

They have a handful of them out. They are bred, raised, and trained here in the U.S.A. You can google guide horses :-) Nice pic - too bad the little fella lost his shoe.

the only problem with the guide horses it that the breeders breed dwarfism into the horses...then they are prone to diseases and hoof problems which can shorten their lives.

I'd say that it is Donald Burleson. It looks like images I found of him on the internet and it fits his M.O. with Scout.
