2 or more Redwood trees fused together over the centuries, forming this one monster tree. A spiked crown sits on the head, and the arms are raised up as if it's about to strike the ground. It even appears to be garbed in a long, open robe.
Taken from a postcard purchased at the souvenir shop in Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, in Santa Cruz, California. The tree is on the main loop trail, near the end of the loop.

Ooh my, that IS a monster. And quite regal too, in a scary sort of RingRaith kind of way :D Could this be the fate of an Ent after having had The One Ring for a few decades? Hehe
