Our Engagement

Our Engagement

I took my girlfriend on a 6 mile hike at Point Reyes, Estero Trail on Christmas Day. This hiking trail was actually the first trail I've ever explored and I wanted to share this serene place with her. I consider this hike to be intermediate with breathtaking views of Home Bay and Drakes Estero. The tree you see in the photo is located in the middle of our hike on top of a hill, where at times can be extremely windy. During its life time, it's managed to adapted to its surrounding conditions and grow sideways. Through the years, I've come to call this tree, "The Tree of Sanctity". It's the only tree in the area that has managed to survive the windy conditions and still thrive.

Once we got this point, I told her that i wanted to take some pictures of us in front of the tree. I took a few test shots with my camera, which was mounted on a Manfrotto self-standing monopod.Once she was positioned I immediately set the timer on a 3 shot interval and ran to her. I then got on one knee and busted the question and she answered YES! She did not see this coming...
