OMG! I love this to pieces!! I am certainly going to have to use your awesome layout in an upcoming quilt of my own. So great.

PS: How do you achieve such great free-motion quilting results? What do you use?

Thank you thank you!! The layout was influenced by this beautiful quilt:

And in terms of the free motion quilting, I do it on my own sewing machine with a darning foot and the feed dogs down. I practiced A LOT on scraps and I've definitely gotten better and better at it... now that I sort of have the hang of it it's becoming my favorite part of the whole quilt making process! Now I need to try some free motion that isn't meandering...

And I have to say, the improvement in the look of the quilt after it's machine washed and dried is drastic! It gets so crinkly and nice after...

Yeah, I totally want to send all of my quilt tops to you to free-motion! Do you just move the quilt around at random when you free-motion quilt?

You can definitely do it yourself! It's not that hard, it just takes some practice. This discussion helped me tons - especially the video demo. That shows you exactly how I do it.

I just literally sighed out loud when I saw this. I loved it before it was done and it's even more beautiful now. It's a wonderful quilt and the recipient is one blessed baby.

The contrast and colors in this quilt are really nice. I like the "I spy" birdies and flowers!

It took me a while to build up the guts too, but once I did it it wasn't too tough to get the hang off. And now I'm in love with it!
