That's really nice. What size did you make the geese? That was a lot of work!

    15. handmadebyalissa (50 months ago | reply)

thanks wonderbreadpowers! I made the triangles out of 6.25 inch squares - just like the pattern in the book... I just did some math and upped the numbers of rows & columns to increase the size of the quilt. It was a lot of work - my only full sized quilt for now! Some more baby ones for me before tackling full (or queen!) sized again...

Thats a truckload of geese! I love it. I'm a big monochromatic fan. Beautiful work.

Really pretty - I do love your colour scheme. You are so right about all those triangles (I feel like I may never get throgh them!), but it's worth putting in the hard yards.

Oh this is gorgeous! I was just doing a search on flickr to find some examples of flying geese quilts as I have just begun cutting fabric for the same Denyse Schmidt quilt, which I will be making larger for a single bed. What a beautiful selection of fabrics you have used - love the palette. I'm using a range of the DS Katie Jumps Rope fabrics for mine (it's for my son) and I hope it comes close to looking as lovely as this one.

Thanks so much Bridie! I'm sure that those Katie Jump Rope fabric will be perfect. I'm using loads of it in my next quilt and as I have been cutting away I've been thinking to myself that it's so rare to find such a great fabric line that works for men as well... Can't wait to see your quilt when you're done!
