Spring Dreams
This is the Cercis canadensis, and is native to North America, and is
also called the Eastern Redbud. Mine is native to Oklahoma and is
called the Oklahoma Redbud. It grows wild everywhere here and you can
see miles of pink at present in the wooded areas and especially around
lakes and rivers. And it is also our state tree.
The "Judas Tree" is the Cercis siliquastrum, the European
Redbud, and it grows in the Mediterranean region.
