2006 - Kalene Hospital, Zambia
Kalene Mission Hospital is in the very north west corner of Zambia near to the borders of Angola and Congo. The Mission was established in 1906, but in its present location for about 60 years.

The mission buildings had got into a bit of a state. In 2006 Brass Tacks went out to carry out works to extend and renovate the hospital. There were a lot of volunteers over a period of about 8 months. A lot of work has carried out - it made a big difference to the hospital, but there was so much more work still to do!

The main works involved two new toilet and shower blocks. Renovating existing toilet facilities, replacing and mending the roofs, new drainage system, new sinks and plumbing and many other jobs.
