Woody Woodpecker
Actually, that was the title of a song which was popular when I was just a wee boy. His proper name is Greater Spotted Woodpecker...and he was spotted by me on the cherry tree outside the window. This was taken through the glass; I only got 1 shot before he flew off.

A well-fed robin
It's nice to get back on to flickr after a month or so gap. Ruthy has had her knee replacement operation and since she came home from hospital I am comforter, head cook, cleaner, washerwoman, cat and bird feeder,tea-maker to the guys rebuilding the conservatory, etc etc.
And I thought only women were supposed to multi-task!!
But I managed to catch a snap of this lovely wee fellah perched on a feeder.
It's nice to be back!

It's a hard life...
We had a skiff of snow this morning and the usual mob of small birds at the feeders was joined by about half a dozen pheasants in the garden.
