Richthofen Staffel F-4F Phantom II
I have recently been supervising some undergraduate aircraft design projects at a local University, and remembered some particular design features of this aircraft the students might find interesting.
The basic design dates from the mid-1950s, and this version will probably be the last in service anywhere in the world, having incorporated numerous modifications based on experience, not least of the dubious handling characteristics of earlier models when used in combat over Vietnam.
