Not a hard 14er by any means, but it's Sadie's 6th (and mine, as well). That was a sunny minute. Fogged out 5 min later.

We never got a chance to swim with The Goethe, but driving through Gunnison last summer meant getting to chase balls with Sadie in the normally freezing Blue Mesa water. It was so hot that the water actually was tolerable, at least the top inch of water.

The iconoclastic photo of the Goethe. She had spent the previous hour retrieving out of the lake behind her. This trip took place in 2005, about 6 months after I blew out my knee. Good thing I had a strong arm. With the exception of the RV park, Creede/Lake City is a beautiful part of the world.

10th anniversary trip took us to Telluride and above. This amazing hike took us to Hope Lake (2000 ft above Telluride). The lake, which is about 100 yds further up (to the right) sits at a nice 33 degrees F, possibly the most desirable ending point for a black dog after a long, hot walk. This pic came about only because Sadie found some beautiful wild flowers which probably reminded her of my garden at home. Meaning, she walked right in the middle of them and took a seat.

Hopefully, this will become the logo people in Denver come to recognize as the symbol of hope for people who love their pets but are having a hard time providing them with the veterinary care possible to keep their pets healthy. I created this foundation last year to help others as I realized that Goethe (my late, great lab), enjoyed a little too much hospital time :). Anyway, it's a great cause. www.thegoethefund.com
