Life isn't NICE. Life isn't FAIR. Life isn't GOOD.
If you think otherwise, you're a victim.
Fight's on !

cavok,
seems like you're out of arguments, so you start insulting. Nice going.

I do not need arguments. I know LIFE.

Shame on people, who stand up and take their rights? That's very confusing and not very democratic...

Cavok, you're a joke. Simple as that. What are your arguments against what Alexander S. or Diskostu wrote?
Plus, your argument about burglars sucks, because seeing the front of a house doesn't tell the thief very much. If he wants to break in, he STILL has to go there (so why would he bother looking at the pictures in the first place?), he STILL has to find a way to break in and he has NO idea whether circumstances have changed, as Google takes pictures ONCE and doesn't update.

zillikens,
I give a sh*t on your opinion. Simple as that. :)
cavok3669 32 months ago | reply
My opinion is the reason for my decisions, built upon observation, conclusion and experience.
I will NOT discuss it here. It will not be changed. My privacy is the holy grail, and YOU will NOT touch it. Accept it or not, I do not care.

Besides, I WILL make use of the right to defend myself when my property and/or life is in danger. Stay sharp, guns ready !

I´m really sad about this. In my opinion google street view is a very nice tool to see different cities. Everybody is allowed to take a picture of my house and i can´t do anything against it, if he or she takes the camera and makes a photo. And who the f*** has ever cared about it. But now we have a big discussion about it. And what for...???? What´s the use of it? I don´t unterstand. And i´m only talking about the house not about the people! Nothing else but ridiculous!!!!!!

Im german too. I love street view. its a treasure to have cities photographed for eternity. i think it is sad, in google earth which everyone is using you can see everyones garden and pool, etc. and nobody said anything. who wants to relinquish google earth?
the germans use street view most of all.

@cavok: I wouldn't have expected anything else from you. You obviously don't give a shit about your English, either. Disgrace to the nation.
cavok3669 32 months ago | reply
And I bet my English is still far better than your German... :P

great discussion everyone ;-) greets from germany (and yeah - it IS ridiculous)

To my mind, you missunderstood the problem. It is not a concern of privacy what bother the german politicians it is the fight for votes. Germany doesn't have "big" problems like high unemployment or an debate about public health care, so the politicians pick up what ever they can discuss about and they can use for publicity. Before that it was Sarazins book, before that it was something else and there will be a lot of rediciculouse stuff to discuss till the next election! Have a nice day! =)

I'm ashamed of living in a country where so much squares are living in!
The Streets are looking unsightlier with these pixelated buildings.

hey, don't worry streetview fans! There's a group around Jens Best who is going to photograph all pixeled houses in germany and taking them back to the public digital world by uploading the photos online in picasa/panoramio.
This is legal and according to the Panoramafreiheit.
Great deal.
I support both. "Privacy" to pixel the houses and the panoramafreiheit.
In the end, it's just a zero sum game. And everyone got cancer from the flame wars.
Relax. :-)

Hey Cavok3669, you sound like you're a fellow with quite a few privacy issues. Holy grails stashed in your house? Skeletons in your closet? Secondly, you obviously haven't copped on that by pixelating your house you are sending out a message to your fantasized "Street View stalkers" that you probably have sth to hide
plenty.r. 31 months ago | reply
Thanks discostu for the Panoramafreiheit link.
I've lived in my hood for 25 yrs and looking at the streetview blankouts seems to map out where those who might have something to hide actually live. Fascinating. I can see where Cavok is coming from. Maybe we should all chip in to buy him that private island, and a camera judging by his account public content.
Meanwhile..
