360 degrees of Florence

360 degrees of Florence

I don't often do panoramas, but I thought this one was cool because of all the detail visible in the original file, which is 22000x3886 pixels! Its a big download, but worth a look if you're interested (click here).

The pictures were taken from the top observatory of the Dome (Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore). And yes, I know it would probably look better without the black borders, but then I would lose too much of the image. I'll plan better next time!

My girlfriend can kick your a$$ (and mine).

Strobist info: One SB600 flash to the left of the camera, above the model, at 1/8 power. Another SB600 flash to the right of the camera, at eye-level with the model, at 1/4 power. Both triggered via alienbees.

St. Augustine Lighthouse

St. Augustine Lighthouse

A very old lighthouse in St. Augustine, FL. This is one of my first shots taken with my recently acquired Samyang 14mm UMC lens (couldn't quite afford the Nikon version!). Sharpness is pretty good, and it renders some pretty nice colors. It has some distortions, but at 14mm wide on full-frame, I won't complain.

I edited the exposure quite a bit in photoshop, which is why it may look a bit HDR-esque, but it is not an HDR.
