Nogeyama Park ca. 1900

Nogeyama Park in Yokohama. Hand colored albumen print around 1900.
(As zoo57 pointed out, this is not the park but the tori gate to the Iseyama shrine grounds. Thank you!)

I like all the groups of people. I guess this was a little bit staged, or the photographer asked people to get out of the way... Nice shot of the girls..

I am sure that it is staged, David. At the right side, it seems that a couple of european tourists are kept from walking into the scene.

I agree staged but I do like the old woman sweeping.

Aha! I live around the corner from here. It is Nogeyama, but not the park. This is a shot of the approach to Iseyama shrine, aka Iseyama Kotai Jingu, to give it its full tongue twisting name. The wooden structure is a tori gate to the shrine grounds. A lovely shot indeed!
