There are simple and easy steps to making your Valentine's Day candy box. You are able to use a xyron machine if you would like, to give your beautiful craft paper adhesive so it is easier to put together. You can also use glue of course, thinning it out with water so it has a thin even layer of glue. Once you have done that, you can stick both of your papers together. This gives you a nice thick piece of paper for your design. In order to make the heart pattern, you can find any pattern online. You may google it if you'd like, or simply draw one yourself. It is easiest to go to marthastewart.com/martha. She has a template that you can use for your box. Now make sure your paper is a stiff paper, so the box is not wobbly. This only works with construction paper. This will keep the box together.
On the heart box template, the solid lines are to cut, and the dotted lines are to fold. Staple the template to the paper that you have stuck together, and that will help the template stay in place. Make sure you're not stapling the actual box on the template, but around. Next you will cut out the box template with scissors. Once that is complete, you can fold and put together your wonderful box. If you notice, there are two holes you'll need to punch out of the template. This is so the ribbon can be pulled through. You can use any type of ribbon you like. It is suggested that you wrap a little scotch tape around the end, so the ribbon will go through the hole easily. The template for the heart shaped box leaves space for you to put any sort of treats you would like for the person you are giving it to. One of the best things about this little candy box, is that it can be any color you like, and any ribbon you would like. The sky is the limit with these cute little boxes. Your sweetheart, or the person you cherish the most, will adore these homemade boxes. It has been said that a gift that is made from the heart is the best gift to give.
