Through photography, Afghan youth from around the country are showing their perspectives on family life, work, and landscape. Photography workshops in Kabul, Mazar, Herat, Badakshan, Panjshir, and Kandahar gave youth new skills in documentary photography and opportunities to show their work. .
The workshops are part of the Afghan Youth Voices Festival, an ongoing series of workshops and events to support self-expression among young Afghans through filmmaking, theater, music, blogging, and more. The festival is organized by Internews with support from a diverse group of local partners in Afghanistan’s media and non-governmental organizations, and funding from the United States Agency for International Development under the Afghanistan Media Development and Empowerment Project (AMDEP)..
