Twenty years previous to the last upload it was Choppers that held sway on coal trains to Fiddlers Ferry, though then it was from local pits and not imported.
Headcode box fitted 20140 in rail blue and disc 20090 in railfreight grey take a break at Arpley sidings, Warrington in between hauling the black stuff between the remaining pits on the Lancashire coalfields and Fiddlers Ferry power station.

It was rather kind of DB Schenker to stable 60007 in a photographable spot at Warrington Arpley on Sunday 29th January. The recently overhaulled 'Tug' enjoys a well earned day of rest from hauling coal between Liverpool Bulk Terminal and Fiddlers Ferry Power Station.

358 was numerically the first of Lancashire Uniteds 33ft Daimler Fleetlines, nicknamed Jumbos due to the extra length. This one was unique in having twin headlights and was the only one to wear a different livery when delivered.

Heading back to the car from our walk up Rivington as the sun sets on another day.

A walk out with the kids and the dogs away from our usual haunts took us to Rivington on the edge of the West Pennine Moors. The cold evening and general stillness led to this spectacular view of Fiddlers Ferry power station which was hard at work producing clouds.
