Ice-cave Jump around

Ice-cave Jump around

I teamed up with the jumping girl Noelia on a pure Icelandic adventure trip, and together we explored some ice caves, hotsprings and spectacular landscape in Iceland. This is shot inside a rapidly vanishing ice cave in Vatnajökull ice cap, since december about half of this cave has flushed away due to rain and warm weather in february.

I'll be offering custom made workshops/phototrips in Iceland, all about it and photogallery on www.skarpi.is

Discover Iceland

Discover Iceland

An Ice palace deep inside the Vatnajökull ice cap in Iceland. Vatnajökull is the largest ice cap in Europe, around 3,100 km³ covering about 11% of Iceland, and constanly changing it's formation due to the melting of the glacier. This stunning ice cave was not easy to find, nor easy to enter (the story will remain in my head for now). Again... the guy inside the cave happens to be me.

Discover Magazine are publishing my ice cave photographs in the June issue along with an interview with the Icelandic glaciologist Helgi Björnsson, which recently published a masterpiece book about the glaciers in Iceland Jöklar á Íslandi

Feel free to browse my gallery or check out photography tours at my website www.skarpi.is

At last! For safety reasons I'll not recomment anyone to travel into the glaciers without local guiding. We have a recent tragic accident where a photographer died while exploring the glaciers. Never hike alone into the glaciers.

Jökulsárlón "Glacier Lagoon" - South coast Iceland

Jökulsárlón "Glacier Lagoon" - South coast Iceland

The Glacier Lagoon on south coast of Iceland, is for sure one of the most magical places on earth. The alpine mountain view, Öræfajökull volcano/glacier, floating icebergs, and the calm and peaceful wildlife in this area is a dream for landscape and wildlife photographers. This is shot at sunrise with cloud overcast and low sun rays lighting up the glacier from the left side, giving a nice detaile on the cracks of the Öræjafjökull glacier, I used a zoom of 200mm to catch the detail of the lighted glacier, and stitched together few shots to a panorama view.

I'll be offering some photography guiding to this area, among other magical locations in Iceland. More info about the tours at www.skarpi.is
