Fishermen Rainbow

Fishermen Rainbow

In the lovely island of Burano (nearby Venice) every house has a different colour so the fishermen, even when they are miles out on the sea, can always know which one is their one and feel the love of their family supporting them on their hard work.

<3 I hope you are all well and happy!!
(((hugs)))

On the canal

On the canal

This is a old photo I took several months ago. I was riding on a boat on the canal that goes from Camden to Regents Park.

I uploaded this to participate to the last theme of Two Weeks Notice, "Nature in the city".

It would be nice to live in that river side house!! : )) And Camden is pretty much in the very centre of the city.

Coming Home

Coming Home

This is me on the bus number 17, coming home at night and looking to my favourite London profile: the Tower Bridge with its beautiful lights.

And ... coming back to Flickr after so many months is like coming Home.

Dearest All,

many months have passed by, streaming under my fingers.
I did not even realise it, and yet summer is over and winter is 'round the corner.

I miss you, your photos and our chats, but I find myself arriving at the end of the day so tired that my eyes can't spend time on a computer screen any more.

Also, I haven't been travelling at all, lately, and I haven't taken any photo I am happy about.
My tiny little camera is still in my bag, as usual, but I am not using it much.

Life is what happens whilst you make other plans, and that's so very true...
These last days I realised coming back to flickr and looking at your photos (even if sometimes I was not logged in so I didn't comment) that everyone's lives are changing too.
Some of my flickrfriends also deleted their account (John-Grizzbass! Where are you?), some are getting married in 3 days time (congratulations dear Kathleen!), some became friends in the real life (dear Janine, John, Paul and Sonia thank you for your great friendship!), some are having hard times (hugs to you) and I am sure many other things happened whilst I wasn't here.

I am sorry. I miss not being part of your flickrlife any more but at the moment I feel like a juggler with too many fire juggling balls in my hand. I hope things will change soon!

Anyway... I am alive!

Some random news about me:

I quit my job as a receptionist at the Hostel. I will probably start soon a new job, but since I am not sure, yet, I will wait to give you details! : )

Incredible but true, I have been accepted at University!!
I will now be studying English Literature for the next 4 years. I am a student of Birkbeck College, that is affiliated with the University College of London, one of the best universities in the world.
As you can guess, I am excited, thrilled, honoured, proud and totally scared. I started since a few weeks and I have already LOADS of things to do and the first exam in 9 days time. I am one of the very few not-English students (I think there is another girl but I am not totally sure) in my class, so I need to work harder than anyone else.

The classes are amazing and so very interesting... And I feel the need to THANK YOU because without Flickr I would not have had such a good chance to exercise my English.
Flickr has been vital for me, for many reason, and also in my learning process. I still have a long way to go, but this is a great first step, for me, especially considering that I came to London 3 years ago without knowing any English at all.

Thank you my friends for your amazing support and help.

After these months of preparation and study, I feel that things are kind of settling down now, so I promise I will try to keep in touch more from now on.
I hope you did not forget me already because surely I have not. : ))

All my love and hugs are on your way ~~~

your friend

Lau
