Considering I've all but given up on Flickr as it continues to just be a dumping ground full of happy comments on some of the worst images I've seen... I figure I'll continue to post my ramblings here...

The above image as shot with a Nikon D700 and a Nikon 70-200 V1.

It is astounding to me what I have been missing in the serious camera camp.

ASTOUNDING.

To say the Nikon D700 is awesome is an understatement. Nikon got this camera so freaking right. Its amazing.

I've been shooting Canon a relatively short period, around 7 years now. I've have had on-off-on chances to shoot Nikon before. Chances like when I'm assisting for Nikon shooters and I grab a second camera and get reminded about how much I hate my Canon system.

I can't really say enough great things about this. There was a learning curve to shooting this camera all night, there was a sprint because this band was opening and had a short set, I had to work almost as fast as I do at a wedding...

The images are great looking and the color is amazing. There was a little learning curve as well in Lightroom to try to get what I wanted out of my photos. But I was pretty successful...

Just to have a camera that was confidently telling me things were in focus was just an amazing experience...
