      Wow! I love this shot, Yellowlens! I have a crab apple tree in my back pasture, but they are just plain green. :)

      Thanks! I like the shot, too, if I do say so myself. I'm not sure that these fruits are actually crabapples--the tree was in someone else's front yard--but I didn't know what else to tag the picture with. "Fruit-bearing tree" sounds a little clunky.

      Beautiful colors! It's hard to tell, but this looks like a deciduous holly. Maybe a cultivar of winterberry?

      Winterberry sounds possible, because I've heard that those can do well in the middle of towns/cities, and this was very close to the sidewalk. Thanks! I'll remove the crabapple tag, and change it to winterberry. :-)
