Los Angeles River - Great Blue Heron and Snowy Egret
The Los Angeles River is making a comeback! Please support its return with the Friends of the L.A. River.. folar.org and also www.thelariver.com an official web site of the City of Los Angeles where this image is now featured on their news blog.
My first trip into the Los Angeles River waters! I was fortunate and honored these wild birds would have me close. With me was my Canon 300mm USM L 2.8 lens, but a tiny switch on it is going bad.. so much to my chagrin I was unable to change focus. Had to shoot this scene closer than planned and with my old Canon 50-200mm 3.5-4.5 EF!
