Hook Head Lighthouse, Co. Wexford - Raging Storm From Southwest

    Photography by Kevin A. Logan - WindowsToIreland.com

This is a day I will never forget.
I was well aware it was a windy day, too windy in fact to drive by motorbike. In spite of this I needed to go down to the lighthouse to deliver some photographs. A friend offered to drive me down in his car, a much more appropriate vehicle for the weather.
When one arrives to the lighthouse, you really don't appreciate where you are until you make the final turn around a bend and actually get on the peninsula. Then there is only open sky, open ocean and of course the lighthouse. What I saw took my breath away. Waves were breaking across the road, waves that were easily 40 feet high. Frankly, I had never seen such dramatic weather.
FORTUNATELY I had my cameras and tripod with me. So I shot this photograph.
