I can't believe someone else found this! On my 22nd birthday my friends and I went out and wandered back home, quite inebriated, and this was my surprise gift from a 7-11 in Berkeley!
We couldn't stop laughing especially at the speed induced craziness it tried to pass as music.

these are the funniest things. saw them last year at the soccer fields in red hook. i wonder if it was supposed to say "being girl?" or "kind girl" or "gentle girl." half the fun is trying to figure out what their original meaning was.

I've seen a bunch of these at flea markets, usually the stalls where it's forty or fifty boxes full of Chinese goods. I wish I'd gotten one when I saw it.

I have one of those! I'm turning her into a controller for circuit-bent instruments. Also the creepy ringtone she plays is "Butterfly" by SMILE.dk, which from the music video appears to be a mildly racist song about two wannabe-Japanese white women looking for Japanese boyfriends. Benign indeed.
Also, I love the "Malign Girl" idea! I'm going to use it in my next show!
