Loggerhead Shrike

This little bandit hangs out along the Half Moon Bay Airport for part of the year. This is the 3rd year I've observed him. It's always a treat to see this bird, not many of this ilk found in my area.

Surfer beach tide 6.4 swell W15ft _wind 10mph 012212

Highway 1 is to the left. 10-15 ft. Large mid period swell from the west. Breezy southeast winds, whitecapping conditions with moderate choppy seas. High surf advisory has been in effect from 4pm Saturday to 10am Sunday.
