This is the first Ashness Bridge picture for yonks that has persuaded me to look beyond the thumbnail and it was well worth the effort.
Everything is where it should be and all bathed in a lovely early morning light.
    Beautiful.

I rather think that this bridge might have been photographed a couple of times before. However rarely have I seen a picture of it which is this good.

  4. Graham 001 (4 months ago | reply)

I really like this Terry, it’s not often photographed with the lighting just picking out the snow toped fells.

Chris, Tony....we nearly didn't bother, as you say it's a cliche, but the backdrop was great and who knows, you may never see it like this again. Thanks for looking!

Glad you took the trouble, Terry. It's a cliched shot all right, but with the snow on the hills it gives an extra dimension that is rarely seen.

Beautiful greys and duns, and sunlit snow!

I like this a lot Terry, the arrangement of river, lake, mountain gives a really nice arrangement in the square crop. Super wintry light and colours too.

Steve...cheers! Didn't think it would be any good but that backdrop makes it.

A beautiful view Terry. I like to think you were striding along that snowy ridge a little later in the day....it does look inviting

  22. bingleyman2 (4 months ago | reply)

Ruse...we found a snowy ridge to stride along! It was as good as it looks!

Terry brilliant shot, looks like a perfect day.
Like the clouds just kissing the ridge.

Unusual to see it with this wintery backdrop - love the snowy hills - brrrr but it looks cold out there! I once painted this scene from a postcard - never been there in person! I should really try to visit the Lake District more often.

By ignoring the stream as a front focal point and using those big rocks instead makes this a bit different.. Skiddaw looks great too :-)
