Linda...if you think Blackpool in May was cold!!...it's snowing up here this evening! It is a great spot however, and I certainly wouldn't mind the cold with a view like this!

Except for the traditional Lakeland house, this could have been taken in America. Beautiful view.

This is lovely Terry, I was surprised it was taken mid-day, I had initially thought early morning until I checked, well done mate.

Graham..The light at this time of year is usually interesting even in the middle of the day....and another good thing, you can get a sunset and still be home before 5!!

And the house gives it a lot of depth.

I think you missed a bit of the previous dialogue, my Queen, of course you are right. Although many say it belongs in Scotland. ;D

    34. Queen Breaca (6 months ago | reply)

No, Boakesy, my man, I didn't. And neither did I mean any disrespect to you or to Americay (although you're from Newcastle, I presume?), I just wanted to point out how unique the Lake District is, at least in my humble opinion. Having said that I must also admit that I've never been to the US of A yet, but I've studied umpteen photo books and I'm a great fan of Jim Brandenburg's photography.
There now. Hope you're having a swell time preparing for Christmas.

David, QB,..... you should play the game of choosing one of two things instantly..ie Beer or Wine, Curry or Fish and Chips etc...then try it with places,.... Dales or Lakes....England or Scotland. the results can be very interesting!

    36. Boakesy53 (6 months ago | reply)

Apart from the presents, decorations and the tree, I'm quite prepared for Christmas. I've been to America a few times and I would agree that the Lakes is something special, so I don't disagree with you, it is beautiful. I do come from Newcastle and as such have spent many happy times in the Lakes but no where near as much time as Terry who produces remarkable images. Our banter is meant in fun. Have a Merry Christmas.
Wine, fish and chips, Lakes for the views, (Dales for the views and better weather), Scotland.

Good choices!! Ditto re Christmas preparations..I did buy some mince pies and ate them.
