Depot Restaurant - Clara's
Waiting for some visitors. This is a neat little restaurant about 15 miles from my home. It's a converted train depot w/ tons of character.

I love the mood and the feel of this place. It has an air of solitude perhaps, but I think it's a temporary solitude until a group of friends arrives and makes it a night to remember. I like that you converted it to sepia, Jim. It gives the restaurant a very warm, homey feeling. A place that you would take a dear friend to and catch up on life over a couple of tall, frothy beverages... :)

DDelic- there are many nice small corners in this restaurant. Very atmospheric indeed. : )
Lucy - you're right. Ten minutes later this table was filled w/ a family reuniting w/ one another after quite some time, apparently. It became loud and active w/ many children. Dale was going to Vegas Wednesday on a great Spirit fare. Grandma was so pleased to have all four of her great grandchildren at the same table, and Katheriine can't wait for holiday break from WMU. Other than that, MsLucy, I'm glad you like the sepia. : )

This is great. Is this the place we ate after Alix (?) was born? Marshall has a lot of warm places to go. Next time, let's visit one.

Hi, Clarity. It is really a great place to hang out. I think the sepia makes it all that much warmer. It's even better when the get the fireplaces burning! : )
Hey, Steve, thanks so much. No, this is in Battle Creek. This may be BC's only "warm" place, but it is really cool. Marshall is full of quaint, homey places such as this. I think you are referring to Winston's. Next time you're in town, we'll hang out there.

Terry ... thanks so much for all the kindness and faves. I appreciate them. I am humbled when people dig my photos. I like sepia for the aging effect it gives a setting. My favorite part of this setting were the Christmas lights outside. :)

Hey j, I blogged a small copy of this to Michigan Restaurants: Clara's of Battle Creek & Lansing on Absolute Michigan.
Hope that's OK by you, figured it would be!
