Alicia and I visited some friends in Canajahorie NY over the weekend. While there we decided to stop and visit the Robert B. Woodruff Nature Center and hike the nature trail.

There are at least 4 all season waterfalls here, and we saw a few others that were probably "spring flows".

Here is a close up of one. I have a bunch more shots and angles but I wanted to get this up because we are going back to Buffalo to visit our new grandson Memorial day weekend.

When I get off waterfalls and try to take photos of some of my other favorite things - buildings, I like to move off the basic "straight out of the camera" shot.

The top view is an ultra-realistic interpretation using Topaz Labs Adjust 5. I increased the detail levels and saturated selected parts of the photo (not the sky though!).

I used Topaz Simplify on the bottom one to give a different impression. Check out the trees. Topaz is a really cool program and easy to use with Photoshop or Photoshop elements.

Which one do you like better?

We saw this house from the NYS Thruway on our last trip back from Buffalo. We decided to go hunting for it. Unfortunately it was at the end of a winding private driveway. There were no "no trespassing" signs but to walk up the driveway would have obviously been trespassing. So we didn't.

Sometimes the only angle you can get is still a good one.

Still haven't found the profile in this falls, and I looked at from alll the angles.

Still, this falls was worth a second look. Running out of new stuff since we just finished up the move from NY to VT this past weekend.

Taken on a recent trip back from Falling Waters Trail in April. This was a great falls to visit. There is a nice picnic area a short distance before the falls, and the splash pool looked like a great spot to fish.

Lots of angles here, although this one required climbing up the left bank about 150 feet and then back down again. I didn't like the "dead on" shots as well as this side view.

Supposedly the falls are named for the "profile" of a face that appears on the right side of the falls if you stand in the right place. Not sure if you can see it in this shot, but if so, my friend David will point it out!
